Muammar Gaddafi buried in secret location –Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch called for investigation into apparent massacre of 63 Gaddafi fighters in Sirte 26 Oct 2011 Former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was buried in secret “to avoid sedition”, the interim government said last night. The [US-backed] National Transitional Council (NTC) said Gaddafi was taken to an undisclosed location in the Libyan desert to avoid inflaming tensions among either anti-Gaddafi or pro-Gaddafi supporters. Gaddafi was buried near his son, Mutassim.
